CORE Enterprise
CORE Enterprise is a robust client-server version of CORE, and is designed to provide scalability for small or large project teams. CORE Enterprise utilizes a commercial object-oriented database management system to provide access to the project data repository from workstations on a local area network. CORE2net provides permission-based web access to the system design repository from any web browser.
CORE Enterprise Server provides transaction management between clients and the database management system. It includes the administrative functions for managing user
accounts, assigning user permissions, and managing the licenses that govern tool utilization. CORE Enterprise Server includes a dynamic updating mechanism that synchronizes active clients, allowing changes published by one user to be automatically reflected in all clients looking at the same data.
CORE Enterprise Client is the user interface to CORE Enterprise Server, and provides complete systems engineering functionality with the same user interface as CORE Workstation. CORE clients may utilize COREsim to execute behavior models.
Minimum Specifications for CORE Enterprise Server Hardware and Operating System Configuration:
- Operating System: Windows Server 2000/2003/2008* or desktop operating systems Windows 2000/XP/Vista. Installation on a server operating system is recommended. CORE has run under some UNIX and Macintosh systems if an emulator (such as CITRIX) is used though Vitech does not provide support for emulators.(*Please note, CORE is compatible with 64 bit operating systems.)
- CPU: 1 GHz processor is the minimum recommended. If only a single client is in use, performance will not increase significantly from the addition of multiple processors. However, if several clients (4+) are running simultaneously, they will realize significant performance benefits from the installation of multiple CPUs. The faster the CPU(s), the more efficient the entire CORE Enterprise Server configuration.
- RAM: 2 GB RAM is the required minimum, although 4 GB is recommended.
- Hard Drive: Hard disk drive should have at least 30 GB free. Optimum performance can be achieved by having 3 separate physical HDDs or arrays, but only one is required. If three are used, two of them should not be used for operating system virtual memory. One of them should have at least 10 GB free, and the other at least 20 GB free. External and network drives should only be used for backup purposes.
- Network: Static IP address
- Other: Access to a backup mechanism (e.g., a DAT drive and accompanying backup software) is highly recommended. Additionally, Vitech recommends a dedicated, server computer with no other applications or services running for optimal performance.
Minimum Specifications for CORE Enterprise Client Hardware and Operating System Configuration:
- Operating System: Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7
- CPU: 1 GHz processor or higher. The faster the CPU, the faster script and simulation (using COREsim) execution will be.
- RAM: 1 GB RAM is the minimum recommended. 2 GB RAM is preferred.
- Hard Drive: 100 MB free disk space; additional disk space required for project databases.
- Screen Resolution: 1024x768 pixels or greater recommended
- Network: TCP/IP connections to CORE Enterprise Server
COREsim can be added to CORE Workstation, CORE Universal, or the CORE Enterprise environment. Interested in learning more about the power of discrete event simulation or how to add this to your existing CORE environment? Contact Vitech Sales for more information.
