Minimum System Requirements =========================== Recommended system requirements vary depending on several factors including number of users supported, amount of data expected, network configuration, unrelated applications running, and other variables. For this reason, we recommend that you contact Vitech Customer Care to obtain a system recommendation that is specific to your needs. The following are the minimum requirements for a dedicated server machine. * Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 * IIS 6 or later * 2 GHz processor, multi-cores/processors strongly recommended * 4 GB RAM * Installation hard drive space requirements: * GENESYS Application Files - 110 MB * Microsoft .NET Framework 4 - 850 MB Software Prerequisites ====================== The GENESYS Web Server is dependent on the GENESYS Server and also requires IIS 6.0 or later to be configured with ASP.net 4 framework support enabled. For procedures on configuring ASP.net and IIS please visit: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178477.aspx. The GENESYS Web server is also dependent on the ASP.net State service (aspnet_state.exe) for state management. Installation and Licensing ========================== Perform the following to install the product: 1) Download the automated GENESYS Web Server installer application from the Products section of our website at http://www.vitechcorp.com. 2) Run the installer. The setup will install application prerequisites including Microsoft .NET Framework 4. Installation time will vary depending on the target system. Setup may require a system reboot. Please reboot if prompted to do so. Perfrom the following steps to license the GENESYS Web Server: 3) The GENESYS Web Server requires a license for each ASP.net process (w3wp.exe) and a Client Access License (CAL) for each session with the GENESYS Server. A local license is required for the GENESYS Web Server and the product must be activated before use. A product key will be emailed to you directly from Vitech prior to installation. Launch the GENESYS License utility (LicenseUtility.exe) to activate your product license. After entering the product key in the license utility dialog GENESYS will attempt to automatically activate the license with Vitech's license activation server using the system's internet connection. You will receive confirmation when GENESYS has been successfully activated. If an internet connection is not available, the GENESYS Web Server must be activated manually. To manually activate, enter the product key, and select the "Save Request" button in the lower right portion of the wizard. Then, copy the license request to a computer with internet access and email it to licensing@vitechcorp.com. Vitech will respond with a license file along with instructions on how to apply it. If you are unable to email the license request file due to security or other reasons, please contact Vitech Customer Support for further licensing instructions. 4) After successful product activation, you may receive an error when attempting to login for the first time. If this occurs, please ensure that the "GENESYS Server Edition Services Host" service is running on the server machine. If this service is not running, manually start the service via the Services applet in the Windows control panel.
