David A. Long, President
David Long founded Vitech Corporation in 1992; developed and commercialized CORE, a leading systems engineering software tool used across the globe; and continues to lead the Vitech team in developing and applying innovative engineering and business process systems to solve the problems of today and tomorrow.
David served on the INCOSE board of directors from January 2003 through December 2007 in several roles including Director for Communications and Director for Strategy. He currently is the Chair of the Nominations and Elections Committee, as well as supports the president and BOD on an ad hoc basis. Additionally, David is a frequent presenter at industry events, and will be presenting the tutorial, “A Model-Based Systems Engineering Roadmap for Developing DoDAF Architectures” at SETE, in Canberra, Australia in September 2008.
David's advanced systems engineering experience is vast, having impacted domestic and international commercial, education, government and military industries. He holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering Science and Mechanics, as well as a master's degree in Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech.

James A. Plimpton, Vice President of Business Development 
James Plimpton has been employed by Vitech Corporation since 1998. His focus is on helping clients at all levels of system engineering maturity incorporate model-based system engineering (MBSE) into their development environment. Plimpton brings nearly 20 years of experience and has been successful in architecting software and service solutions for a variety of key customers and efforts of all sizes.
Prior to joining Vitech, he directed operations, personnel and process management with an approach that led to an award-winning operation in a highly competitive industry.
He holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of California at Davis, as well as eight years of experience with the United States Army Reserve, serving in both the Infantry and Signal Corp.

James E. Long, Chief Methodologist
A veteran engineer with nearly 50 years experience, Jim Long has spent his career on the forefront of what is now known as systems engineering. An innovator, Long created the industry's first behavior diagram in 1967, which was, at that time, called a function sequence diagram. Jim's career has included a variety of technical, management and executive positions with General Motors, TRW and TITAN Systems with his advances published in numerous conferences and trade journals. His work has played a critical role in aerospace, propulsion, defense, surveillance, and communication systems. A highly respected systems engineer, Jim is one of the world's 35 named International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Fellows.
Jim joined Vitech Corporation in 1992 to help commercialize COREŽ, a model-based, integrated systems engineering software tool that connects people, processes, data and documentation. Today, he oversees the company's strategic direction and helps Vitech remain a technical leader, advancing systems engineering as an industry and profession.
A member of INCOSE since 1992, Jim served as president of the Washington Metropolitan Area Chapter and today serves on the Corporate Advisory Board. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the General Motors Institute and a master's in astronautics from Purdue University, where he is a named Tau Beta Pi Eminent Engineer.

Douglas L. Johnston, II, CPA, Chief Financial Officer 
Doug Johnston joined Vitech Corporation's executive team as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee all financial operations, supplier negotiations and human resource functions.
With more than 15 years of accounting experience, Doug has worked as director of Brown, Edwards & Company L.L.P. Certified Public Accountants where he managed the New River Valley and the Employee Benefit Solutions division, as well as provided comprehensive financial services to individual and small business clients.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Concord University; CPA licenses in West Virginia and Virginia; and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
